
It’s taken a while, but it’s now the end of the road for Android Auto on phone screens. As reported by 9to5Google, the Android Auto app for smartphones is no longer available for any version of the Android operating system. If you have the Android Auto app installed and try to run it on your smartphone screen, you will see a message stating that the app is “now only available for car screens”, while showing how to connect your phone to your supported Android Auto automobile.

This has been a long time in coming, Google first announced over three years ago that it would no longer update the Android Auto phone app. However, it took a while to actually shut down the app for mobile devices.
