When you turn on your OLED television, light blasts out of thousands of sensors through a few layers of hardware into your face. As the light travels through those layers of hardware, it gets diffused and reflected and reduces in brightness significantly. Unfortunately, this results in a dimmer picture than the sensors are actually capable of.
At CES 2023, LG unveiled new tech called META (we know, a terrible name). LG META, in simple terms, allows much more light to get from the sensors to your eyeballs, resulting in up to 60% more brightness from your TV. It does this through a combination of new hardware and software.
