Activate Your Data and Deliver AI to Every Enterprise User with Snowflake and Microsoft

Last week was busy, to say the least. At Snowflake BUILD, we announced a number of new features and enhancements to help customers develop a strong data foundation, on their terms, that brings AI to life. And next week, we’re excited to head to Microsoft Ignite in San Francisco to show what these innovations can now do within the Microsoft ecosystem. Here’s a recap of what’s new for our customers on Microsoft Azure.

First, get your data in order

Modernizing your data infrastructure is complex, but it doesn’t have to be painful. Now that SnowConvert AI provides a faster, more predictable and less expensive migration path, you can get trustworthy data into developers’ hands quickly. If you’re moving workloads from an on-premises system to Snowflake on Azure, the new AI-powered code verification and repair (in public preview) accelerates the process by automating testing and repairing converted code, so you can ensure accuracy and quality prior to deployment. Deterministic logic provides accuracy and data security at scale, while AI agents go a step further by automatically validating and resolving conversion gaps — delivering faster, more reliable migrations and accelerating your path to the cloud. Hear from CarMax about its successful migration of more than 450 data pipelines, more than 80 TB of data and more than 1,200 BI reports from a complex, on-prem system to Snowflake on Azure in just 18 months.

Connected data, simplified

Organizations are complex, often with multiple data and AI tools across business units and teams. If you use both Microsoft OneLake and Snowflake within your organization, you can now build an open data lakehouse to unite your data without moving it. Through Apache Iceberg, open interoperability becomes a reality so you can use one copy of data across platforms and choose the right tool for the job at hand. This removes data silos and enables trusted, comprehensive, data-driven insights.

Plus, if you’re a low-code developer using the Microsoft Power Platform to create business apps, you can easily enrich them with your data in Snowflake. The connector between Dataverse — the data storage and management layer of the Microsoft Power Platform — and Snowflake enables you to unite data from Dynamics 365, Microsoft Power Platform and Snowflake, simplifying data collaboration and fueling data-driven application performance. Hear from SKF, a global manufacturing leader, on how it’s  expedited time to value by removing some of the operational complexities of data integration by implementing the connector.

And if you want to connect your data from Microsoft platforms to Snowflake, you can. The Snowflake Openflow deployment option through Snowpark Container Services allows you to seamlessly ingest data from Microsoft platforms into Snowflake to inform analytic insights. Customers leveraging the Openflow Connectors for Dataverse and Microsoft SharePoint benefit from streamlined pipelines, enriched data delivery and a reduced infrastructure management burden.

Unlock AI insights for all users, wherever they work

Our partnership is rooted in providing integrated features and services that empower our customers to solve technical challenges on their terms. AI is no exception. Together, we enable them to solve problems across their united data estate in natural language using their interface of choice.

With Snowflake Intelligence now generally available, all employees in your organization can transform how they work, collaborate and innovate by fostering a true data-driven culture with enterprise intelligence agents. Employees can ask complex questions about both structured and unstructured data across Snowflake and Microsoft in natural language to uncover the “why” behind every “what” and take confident action, all within Snowflake’s secure and governed perimeter running on Azure.

Meanwhile, the Snowflake Cortex Agents app enables Microsoft 365 Copilot and Microsoft Teams users to chat with their data in Snowflake directly from their everyday productivity applications. Xerox Corporation relies on the Snowflake Cortex Agents app for Microsoft Teams to improve its financial analysis process. Whether you log into Snowflake Intelligence, Microsoft 365 Copilot or Microsoft Teams, you can turn data into insights without writing a single line of code.

And for technical pros, you can now build and refine by integrating your Snowflake data into custom agents built with Microsoft Copilot Studio. United States Cold Storage is using Microsoft Copilot Studio and Snowflake Cortex AI to create its own solutions that allow its enterprise users to answer customer questions using natural language.

See you at Microsoft Ignite!

If you’re headed to San Francisco, find our team at booth 4031. We’ll be demoing all of these new capabilities. If you can’t make it in person, don’t forget to register for free online and explore our digital presence.
