For years, the promise of a data-driven U.S. federal government — one that can quickly and securely share information to improve services and deploy innovative, effective and governed AI tools — has been within reach but often hampered by data silos and outdated IT initiatives.
Today, that barrier is significantly lowered.
We’re proud to announce a new strategic OneGov agreement for the Snowflake AI Data Cloud made available through the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) which will make it easier for U.S. federal agencies to use Snowflake to improve mission effectiveness. As The Trusted Government IT Solutions Provider®, Carahsoft works closely with Snowflake to make its data cloud offerings available through Carahsoft’s GSA MAS, expanding access to federal agencies with accessible and pre-negotiated pricing which helps agencies gain simplified procurement and achieve meaningful cost savings that accelerate modernization timelines across Snowflake’s platform. This commitment with OneGov will help accelerate the U.S. federal government’s move into the AI era by giving public servants the tools they need to succeed.
The primary goal of this collaboration is simple: remove the friction that slows down digital transformation and modernization efforts.
Through this agreement, which is part of the GSA’s OneGov initiative, all new U.S. federal Snowflake customers will receive significant discounts on the AI Data Cloud, including up to 50% reduced consumption cost on compute. This creates the potential for immense savings, allowing agencies to better allocate resources, make faster, more informed decisions and focus on their core mission of best serving their communities. As GSA’s Administrator Edward C. Forst notes,“With stronger cross-agency data capabilities, we can accelerate AI tools tailored to each agency’s mission.”
The challenge for government agencies isn’t a lack of data; it’s the sheer difficulty of making that data interoperable and actionable. Data often sits in isolated systems, making secure sharing complex, expensive and time consuming. Snowflake’s AI Data Cloud is uniquely positioned to address those challenges. The Snowflake AI Data Cloud is transformative by delivering an easy-to-use, unified and governed platform that eliminates many of the technical complexities of traditional data systems. It provides:
Secure collaboration: Snowflake’s secure data-sharing capabilities allow agencies and partners to seamlessly connect live, governed data across the federal ecosystem. This directly addresses perennial data sharing challenges and supports the administration’s call for modern data-sharing practices.
AI readiness: Federal agencies need to do more than store data; they need to act on it. Snowflake’s AI Data Cloud allows agencies to run diverse workloads — data warehousing, data engineering, data science and AI — all on a single, scalable and secure platform.
Efficiency and scale: Snowflake’s pricing enables compute to automatically scale to meet dynamic requirements, allowing agencies to pay only for what they need, when they need it.
As Snowflake CEO Sridhar Ramaswamy puts it: “We are removing procurement barriers, so agencies can focus on what truly matters: leveraging all of their data to make faster, more informed decisions that better serve the American people.”
The journey toward a more efficient, AI-enabled government requires a platform that is secure and compliant with government standards. Snowflake operates on a secure platform with built-in governance that supports stringent standards, including deployments authorized for FedRAMP High and the Department of War’s Risk Management Framework (RMF) Impact Level 5.
This streamlined acquisition process via OneGov will help accelerate the adoption of these data-driven strategies across the entire federal landscape. It will provide every agency with an effective pathway to deliver on the administration’s AI Action Plan and regulatory mandates for secure, enterprise commercial solutions and multicloud interoperability. The future of government service delivery is a future powered by accessible, secure and unified data. With this new strategic agreement, we are excited to partner with the GSA and federal agencies to help make that future a reality.
